Dagur & Sif musgo by Örn Porsteinsson

Bij Wonenmetidee staan tijdloze objecten centraal. We decoreren vaak met mooie kunstobjecten waaronder ook deze werken.

Örn Porsteinsson is an Icelandic sculptor, based in Reykjavík. He is primarily known for his monumental work that is on display at several public spaces in Iceland. For Gardeco however, Örn has designed a beautiful line of small sculptures, named the Travel Pieces. The artist initially carves his designs from disposable materials that are later on translated into ceramics and bronze by Gardeco. Porsteinsson’s sculptures have rounded biomorphic shapes that reminisce of the spectacular Icelandic landscape. The artist is also inspired by Icelandic mythology, which is why each of his designs carries the name of a Norse God.

Sif
Sif is a ceramic figurine designed by the Icelandic sculptor Örn Porsteinsson. It is part of a series of figurines inspired by Norse mythology, called the Travel Pieces. In ancient stories, Sif is believed to be the goddess of Earth and to be married to the god of thunder Thor. The figurine’s rounded biomorphic shape and natural colours are reminiscent of the spectacular Icelandic landscape, making it a charming and aesthetically pleasing statement piece. Sif is handmade in the ceramics studio Cores da Terra in Brazil and is available in five natural colours: café, musgo, marsala, white and graphite. Slight differences in size and colour may occur as a natural result of the artisanal manufacturing method.

Dagur
Dagur is a ceramic figurine designed by the Icelandic sculptor Örn Porsteinsson as part of a series inspired by Norse mythology, the Travel Pieces. In ancient Norse tales, Dagur is the personification of the day, a bright and beautiful character who brings daylight to the Earth. The figurine is handmade in the ceramics studio Cores da Terra in Brazil and is available in five natural colours: café, musgo, marsala, white and graphite.
